i like your messy hair, i like the clothes you wear
[ A week passes with two spirits and one human as residents of the enormous Workshop, dining with North whenever he appears out of his office but generally doing their own thing in the meantime. Jack flies off now and again to spread snow and wintry cheer, tactfully letting Dave and Hiccup some time to get to know each other now that both of them are rubbing along better than could have been hoped. He hasn't seen much of either of them separately, so Hiccup wandering the Workshop corridors far below Jack (where he sits atop the Globe playing with a puzzlebox) in the new clothes the winter spirit procured for him from a high street store a couple of days ago, is definitely a head-turner.
Oh no, he's hot. Hotter.
Hiccup looks not entirely unlike the way he does in his flight-suit, only ... casual, cut and shaped into modern-day clothing in a way that has Jack staring (fitted brown leather jacket, bottle-green leather pants with laces up the sides so they can be adjusted to those skinny legs), puzzlebox dropped forgotten atop the North Pole as he sweeps down to land in front of him. He drapes his staff over a shoulder as he hops onto the carpet, a hand stuffing inside his hoodie pocket as he ducks his head with a greeting smile. ]
So where've you been all morning, lazybones? It's almost noon.

I'm never leaving. I promise.

Mmm ... You're all warm.
[ Paying attention to the important things, at last. ]
no subject
I can cool it down if you want me to.
no subject
[ Flicking a nipple, he remains curled up against him with a smirk. Mutinously, he mutters, ] Thinks I can't make it cold on my own, cheeky jerk ... the sheer arrogance ... thinks he knows best ...
no subject
I know. I kinda miss the cold sometimes. [Nuzzling Jack's temples, he presses a kiss to the other spirit's nose as he responds to the mutinous muttering in jest.] I wouldn't say I'm arrogant, though. Caring, yes, but never arrogant.
no subject
The most arrogant and heinous torturer in the land ...

[He murmurs the words against Jack's mouth jokingly, nuzzling his nose as he pressed kisses lovingly to his mouth. Hiccup raises his arm to run his fingers along the one wrapped around his waist, kissing his jaw.]

[Peppering your face with kisses. Please forgive him.]

Five years, then ...

Guess I'll just have to have sex with Dave in that case.

[The skin underneath the ice crawling over his hip warms, keeping the flesh there nice and toasty under his husband's element.]
no subject
[ So, hmph. He presses his knee against Hiccup's warming hip to cool it down, determined. ]
no subject
[The hip flares warmer still, even as Hiccup teasingly runs his knee along the inside of his mate's thigh.]
no subject
I don't care, he's my responsibility and he's still young, and I trust you but Dave is someone I brought into all of this a really short time ago. He gets scared without me.
no subject
I get it. Trust me, I do. I was younger than him when we started. [He smiles a little sheepishly.] And I don't blame you for worrying, I mean you called my dick a wrecking ball once. I wouldn't take him unless I knew he was ready.
no subject
[ Turning his cheek into the play of warm fingers, he lowers his eyes in chagrin. The frost over Hiccup's hip spreads all up his back in fern-like patterns. ]
You're both ... I'm with both of you and I don't want anyone having either of you, not without me. I don't care about the little stuff, fooling around, but ... you're mine. And so is he.
[ Pouting slightly, he presses his lips together into a hard line before exhaling; his frost creeps around a thigh and sinks into a scar of nails. ]
You belong to me, not each other.
[ Possessiveness shared out between two people in the same way, at equal levels of I Don't Need To Make Sense. ]
no subject
I know. That's why I'm okay with sharing you.
[He pulls back slightly, green eyes locking with blue, still as sincere as a thousand years ago.]
There won't be anyone else for me. Not now, not for a million years. I belong to you. I always have done.
no subject
Maybe I ... tried to find a way to forget you. I didn't do so well at that.
[ Because he was drawn to a shadow of all the things he first fell in love with, no matter that Hiccup never once crossed Jack's mind while he was courting Dave. ]
no subject
[He's being honest, his hands coming up to rub gently at Jack's back, encouragingly. It's a little depressing, thinking that he'd almost been forgotten about, but he remembers all the similarities between them that Dave and himself had noticed. Even if Jack denies it, some part of him was subconsciously looking for Hiccup. He brushes his lips against his husband's forehead, murmuring at his temple.]
Is that selfish of me?
no subject
[ His hands slide up to the nape of Hiccup's neck where he's warmest, letting his fingers turn a blushing lilac as they heat up. ]
... But you're back now, and that's all that really matters.
no subject
[Contentedly, he curls close to his husband, pressing a kiss to his forehead before resting his chin on Jack's mop of white hair, pulling him in and draping an arm around his waist. He can't help but think about what might've happened if he hadn't fallen asleep, his chest aching for lost years.]
And I'm not going anywhere. I promise.
