Their break-up feels like a thing that happened years ago, there's a lot more happening in his life now. She's surprised at first but quickly joins the mood, both happy to be able to finally be friends still like they decided that day.
He can't help squeezing that hug a little bit - break-up or not, she's still Becky, his one girl, and it feels good to have her in his life again. He needs the comfort, too. The wave is answered with one of his own as he watches her leave with a silly smile on his face.
