dragonconqueror: (or a moment that's held in your arms)

[He was ready to welcome his husband back with open arms, skidding down the Bewilderbeast's face to his nose, trying to get as close as possible without flying. He sees the staring, a few flashes coming to mind. Dark, a cold curling up next to him, screaming. His every instinct was to wake up, but the hibernation sleep kept him from doing so. The time wasn't right.

Hiccup recognized the voice screaming at him in his deepest nightmares now.

Why won't you wake up?!

The Bewilderbeast nuzzles the hand resting on his nose reassuringly as Hiccup watches Jack fly off as he comes to the startling realization, stumbling back against it's face as he raises a hand to his head.]

No. [His voice comes out in a small croak, shaking his head before looking up at where Toothless was peering over the edge, crooning in concern.] Toothless help...

[The Night Fury bounded down one of the tusks again, and with practiced ease leaped off of it, Hiccup jumping at the same time. The alpha caught him, warbling out a noise as they started flying, still in sync after sleeping hundreds of years, following the winter spirit's trail.

He had to find Jack.

Had to apologize.

You said you'd never leave me.]
